From the minute you step into the Country Sampler you will receive personal service. Owner/Manager Connie Reppuhn is hands-on with the business, actively involved in every aspect of the store's operations, from helping to ring up orders, wrapping gift baskets or personally assisting customers with their shopping needs.
New products arrive daily, which means you are sure to have a different experience with every visit to the Country Sampler. "We have a decorating team that works continuously to keep product displays new and ever changing," Reppuhn said. "We have things that no one else carries and if we don't have it, we will make every effort to get it for you. We welcome special orders and ship worldwide," Reppuhn promised. She added that the store has shipped throughout the country and even to worldwide destinations such as Australia, the UK, Brazil, France, Spain, Japan and the Netherlands. With such a worldwide customer base, more money and job stability is infused into the local economy.
It's proven that locally-owned businesses add much needed stability to communities they serve. At a recent meeting of the Saginaw Township Business Association the focus was on how locally-owned businesses directly impact the local economy. 73% of every dollar spent stays in the local area. In changing economic times, that has become more important than ever.
The Country Sampler Store also supports the community in other ways; through such events as The Visiting Nurse Special Services flu shot clinics, as well as school and community fundraisers for local families and organizations.
More than 150 vendors make up the store's craft family. Many of the crafters are local and offer unique made-in-Michigan products.
Country Sampler takes pride in its gourmet area. Saturdays and Sundays are "Super Sampling" days where you will find a variety of products to tickle your taste buds with a 20% discount offered on all gourmet foods. Many of the gourmet products are from Michigan-based companies. Award-winning Country Home Creations is a mainstay. Other Michigan products include Fireside Coffee, American Gourmet pretzels, Shadowlands honey products and Traverse Bay salsa.
On any given day, shoppers can find everything from handmade oak and pine shelving and accessories to barn wood furniture, jewelry, floral arrangements and dishware. You can also find Heritage lace, country and cottage linens and window treatments and dishware from Park Linens, Raghu, wallpaper, borders and decorative accents from Blonder, Olde Century Paint, framed prints and more decorating accents for the home and garden.
